Do the body lift, get some steps, and some paint and paint the frame flat black. It'll look great and you won't see much of the side of the frame. You're going to see the control arms no matter what though.

Tyler, you're right on all points. Props to the youngin'! lol.
2wd Edges have the same ride height and same suspension as 4x4's.....anything that'll fit a 4x4 with a given setup, WILL fit a 2wd edge/sport. Most 2wd edge guys end up going spindle lift instead of body because they have a far cheaper suspension alternative compared to 98+ 4x4's.
The amount of frame showing under a bodylifted Ranger is about the same or LESS than the frame that shows under a STOCK toyota or s10/colorado. You won't notice much. Side steps will help some, but it's not required. There's gapgaurds that you can make or buy that'll cover up the frame/inner fender gaps. It'll look like stock in the end, only taller.
Here's my truck without steps(granted, I've got a suspension lift too, but you get the point)
And with steps...
Up front....really doesn't show much. You'll see more lower control arms and the rack and pinion more but not much. Remove that stupid useless plastic box thing under the radiator like Tyler suggested....cleans up the look of the truck a hell of a lot.
TONS of people have 3" BL and 33x12.50's. It's about the most common setup of 98+ 4x4's on the site. Just a few Ranger-Forum member examples are below...
Or just search here...we've got the most 98+ 4x4 info and membership here.
