Hey guys, right now I have a 2003 Ranger Edge with 32x11.5 BFG Muds with a stock suspension (just cranked torsion bars). I want to lift my truck to get some more clearance for my tires but from the prices I've seen on suspension lifts (Superlift, Camburg, and RC) I'm thinking a PA body lift would be better. I only off road occasionally so I'm not too worried about really getting a whole new suspension. I just had a few questions about that PA lift.
Front bullbar - I have a Westin bullbar w/ skid plate on the front of my truck, is that going to go up with the lift? I'm thinking it wont, but I also don't think it'd look too out of place with the body lift.
Step bars - I have the stock step bars my edge came with, I'm not too sure if those will raise or not. I'm hoping that they will.
Exhaust pipe - I think this will stay in the same place as well but again not completely sure. If it doesn't, it wont be too hard to goto a muffler place and have them cut it and reweld a new one (or just get the new exhaust I've been looking at.)
Visability of undercarage - Wondering how much of the undercarage will actually show with the 3 inch PA lift. I'd rather not have too much of it showing, I really don't like that look.
Bumpers - Not too worried about the bumpers because I read that the PA lift comes with brackets to lift the bumpers to get rid of the gap.
Nose dive - I'm also wondering if the PA lift would even out my truck, or would it still have the nose dive look? I'd really like it to even out with the lift if that's possible.
If anyone has pictures with 32" tires with a 3" body lift to show me how it'd look and to answer some of my questions that would be great.

 

Everything you are questioning about is mounted to the frame, which does not raise with the body. the body lift does come with brackets for the bumpers but new brackets will need to be fabed for everything else.

the undercarage will be mostly hidden by your step bars, and even without them it only shows minimally.

If you have rake now even after cranking the T-bars then you will still have it after the body lift, it's an even 3" all the way around

 

Are you sure about the step bars? My buddy seems to think they are mounted to my body but I'm really not sure and don't know what to look for to check.

 

yes your step bars are mounted to the body and when the body goes up so does the bars and the bars will help hide the frame. acully you can lift each side during the cab lifting prosess from the bars themselfs...

 

Hey redneckstone or anyone else with a lot of BL experience,

Do you know of anyone who has modified the brackets for their bull bar after doing the lift? I really like the look of the bar, but think it would look akward after lifting the body.

 

Do a search for Evan(rangererv) hes has a bull bar with a 3" bodylift.

Where could I get new brackets for the bullbar to lift it 3 inches with the BL? And how much aprox. do you think it'd cost?

 

mine was homemade so price wise i dont no..i dont really even no how ur bar mounts up. I'd have to see the brackets to see where it mounts to

 

there is no "getting" or "buying" no body makes them you make them yourself 100% custom. we also did billz WAAG and also modified his hooks after the lift


the hooks are a 100% one off custom secreat job lol...

 

and you cant buy new brackets, ur going to have to go to a fabrication shop and have them make something.

no. what kind of trouble are you thinking?
The P/A lift kit is a pretty good lift IMO.
I see you are new, search the site and you will find a lot of info about the P/A body lift kit.

 

I hear that all the time when I tell ppl to do a B/L. They are like no way I have heard the trouble with B/L's but then they can never tell me what trouble they are tallking about.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH DOING A BODY LIFT! Its not going to do anything to your truck accept raise it. I have a B/L and have had no problems with it.

well... the reason i think a lot of people are against them is becuase they dont actually help with performance and theyre mainly for looks... i dont think anything is worng with a bl... but a susp lift is gonna make your truck run better offroad than a bl.

I can think of a few things that is wrong with it. but i still have mine...

 

Never had a problem with mine and it went guite a few places and got the crap beat out of it. Humvee test track down here on Bragg (if a ranger can do it, I know a Hummer can), Centralia and a few other places.

 

I think the BL actually help for clearance since you can fit bigger tires thus helping the performance offroad No doubt a susp lift is better tho. .

I have yet to have any isssues with it either and i offroad it all the time. Only had it a few months but we will see how it holds up.
