Shops will install them but they're expensive. You're looking at 8 or so hours of labor at around $80 an hour. Do it yourself. They're really easy, just time consuming.

There is nothing to it. I did the bed right by myself. And depending on how easy the cab bolts come out, it really isnt that bad with about 4 other buds. Good luck, keep us posted and let us get some pictures when its done.

when you do s body lift with a stick shift and you throw on the shift extension how much longer is a shift throw? is it really noticable? my friends jeep with 3inch body lift has a stupid long throw with the extension

look up some body lift how tos on the forum, people have great tips thatll make it easier. Like when you're removing the body bolts, providing heat to the bottom really helps them get out.

Ya you can defintly do it dude...just find a buddy whos got a garage (with air tools) and start on a friday night. I thought I could never do mine, I started friday night after work, finished sunday night. Took me about 20 hours. But no one was helping me and I had never done one before, and I ran into all kinds of problems. But, defintly you can do it.
As for the shift extender, it does make the throw slightly larger, but you get used to it in a day.
EDIT: oh and the hurst is short throw and mush smoother and better in every way, but, it costs almost $300.
