body lift question

not really a suspension question, but i got a free 3" body lift from a friend, it came with the lifting blocks, and bolts, and bumper brackets to raise the bumper, the only problem is, i dont know if it will fit my 1998 ford ranger 4x4. it came off of a 1997 ford f150 2wd, but my question is, will it fit? i thought that lifting blocks are all universal on anything if there is enough of them, so i was going to put it on my truck, but before i tear off the body mounting bolts, i want to know if they are universal and will fit? please reply

I wouldn't even start tearing apart the truck, I would save myself the trouble and get the right body lift kit.

Do you know if the steering extension will work?

^^YUP!! Will that steering extention work? Belive it's a $50 part from PA... that's about a third the cost of a brand spankin new, made for your rig, summit bodylift...

Are the blocks 3" diameter and 3" in height? If so, ya...those'll work.

Yeah $50 bucks for all the bolts, $50 for the extension and having to make custom bumper brakets? And on top of that having to deal with a used lift, just buy it new.

I'll say it again...why waste the time when essencially you can only use the blocks.
