Body lift

I'm considering putting a 3" body lift on my 99 ranger. I wanting to know the pros and cons to this because I'm undecided. I would also like to know if anyone has an idea of what kit I should use.

No problems here either. Only "con" you may hear about is the gap created between the frame and body which is easy enough to fix with gap gaurds..so id say DO IT!!!

The size of the project depends on how rusty the bolts are. Its a fairly basic project and a good way to convince HIM to do it is..... to not convice him to do it but do it yourself. good grief, does he still change your diaper too?

No problems with it, other than the bumper brackets are a pain, but other than that go for it.

I need his help becuae I dont have the mechanical savvy to do it, and he paid for most of the truck for me. And btw, you can stop acting like an *** at any time.

Thats almost like not having the mechanical savvy to change your oil. Its very, very basic. I didn't have any mech. experience when I started working on my truck. I also didn't have someone w/ experience looking over my shoulder either. The best way to learn is to just do it. But a big point is who OWNS the truck. Is it yours or his? Either way, the statement "How can I convince him to put (a body lift) on (MY truck)" begs criticism.

And thanks for the permission, but I'll act the way a thread or post calls for.

And to the OP

Pros: Cheap, able to fit bigger tires, easy
Cons: No flexing increase, cosmetic reasons (shows frame, exhaust is "lower" from body), higher CG but that is from any lift.

Bottom line, if you just want to fit bigger tires on a budget a BL is a good way to go.

Yea I know its pretty basic, but I know I would mess somethig up, becuae ive only worked on my truck once before. My main concern is the whole steering extension thing, cause I know if I mess something up there it will be quite costly.
