Body Lift W/ CAI?

Im sure there are plenty of posts about this but ive been searching for an hour and can't find anything about it haha. I don't have it yet, but I have been debating a 3" PA body lift. I have a K&N FIPK II CAI but I dont know if this will fit once I do the lift. Ive noticed that some of you with 3" body lifts also have aftermarket intakes. I was just wondering what mods need to be done to make this fit? Does anyone know?

does it matter that mine is a 4.0 whereas yours is a 3.0 or are they going to be similar?

the K&N on 01-03 4.0's are mounted to the engine..alternator bolt to be specific...and there's gobs of room underneeth the filter stock, so 3" raise shouldn't be an issue. If an adjustment of the angle of the k&N tube needs to be made, no biggie. loosen up the clamps at hte throttle body and turn it a little.

The MAC intake set up for 01-03 4.0L's are mounted to the body....so some modding will need to be done(i still gotta mount the damn thing lol). the intake mounts to the old lower rubber grommet hole things that the stock box attached to.

Thunderbolt works perfectly fine w/ a bodylift; you're using the stock intake tube, so it flexes really easy.

So get out there....and do it!

So I'll just have to modify, or make a new heat shield then, correct? so the hole is down lower?

no the head shield will stay.. its just the way the pipe is going to be angled will be different. when you do the body lift the engine falls 3 inches... so the pipe angles up.. there is usually enough play on the parts to allow you to work, only this your going to have to worry about it mounting the pipe somewhere.

It fits perfectly.. would you like a picture? I can go out and take one if you say yes It is true.. it does fit even better now, minus it makes the heatshield even more useless
