follow the upper radiator hose to the engine. It is on the front of the engine.

Or

Follow the radiator hose coming out of the bottom of the radiator, the first sign of metal(i.e. engine) just after the hose ends. There will be two bolts holding a separable piece of cover plate onto the engine, right behind that is the thermostat.

This is what the housing looks like

Just follow the upper radiator hose to the engine, then there will be the thermostat housing....

I had to take the radiator out when I did because I couldn't get the thing that connects the hose to the water pump off. But if you can work your tools right you might not have to. Good luck with that....
