Airbox Mod revisited...

I installed a K&N cone filter and left the bottom half of the airbox installed. Does it affect cone filter performance? Would it be better to remove it completely? If left in, what parts of it would you cut out if using the cone filter? Appreciate any help.

I don't think it'll really affect that much, but why even have it on there? Unless you plan on submerging the front of the truck, what do you have to worry about?

I've always ran my K&N open, and never had any problems. I went through some deep water with mine and no limitations at all.
