Calling All 2.3 Experts

I have a 1993 ford ranger splash 213k 5spd 2wd no a/c no elec windows
Drove it Saturday all day no problems, Sunday afternoon would not start.
Every now and then it would die while driving, I would turn off key ignition and it would start right up. I have changed DIS module, wires, battery, gas shut off valve on passenger firewall coil packs checked gas filter, relays, fuel pump and nothing. Gas tank is full .It cranks over but no start. Timing belt is present and in great condition.
I have read other post but so far nothing gives. Can anyone add advise?

Thank you all in advance

The only other thing I can think of is replacing the Idle Control Valve. I have had the same problem on two of my last trucks. One was a 88 serria and the other was a 85 4cyl stang.

First verify that you are getting spark "AT THE PLUG" and also that fuel is getting there too!

After that I would check the MAF sensor, that could also cause what you describe. Is there a check engine light on?
