Bought a car today.

It's a 4 banger w/ 200hp. It's a 06 model w/27,000 miles on it. Got it for $14,500. Is that a decent price? It will eat the interstate up. 2.0 turbo w/200hp. I love it!

You'll love it until you have to start repairing it. Welcome to the world of Volkswagen ownership. Want to know how I know? My best friend's brother-in-law. I've spent more weekends at his house putting expensive sh*t in that car than I care to remember. CV shafts, wiper motor, ignition... You name it, it's been done.

But for two or three years, you'll love it.

I like VWs, but don't get cocky about your "200hp 4cyl." My N/A 2.3 eats those turbo 2.0s for lunch. Nice car though. Sell it when the warranty goes out.

BS. VW's are like diesel's. Don't skimp on the maintenance, you do, you will be sorry. Maintain it and it will last quite a long time. Keep making it "eat up the interstate" and you will be changing axles like they're going out of style.

You should have gotten the diesel. 45mpg ftmfw. Got a bud with a few "mods" on his diesel jetta. It surprised a few "veeeeetak" owners.
