Upper Intake Manifold Runner Stuck Open?

Just an update for any concerned - I did a search on Yahoo about this problem (I would suggest doing this if you get no response on this forum) - most info. indicated a vacumn problem, so I went out and started checking hoses for cracks - found that the rubber boot attached to the nipple that comes off the valve cover and runs to the throttle body tube had a large tear underneath. I took electrical tape and wrapped it several times to seal it. Disconnected my negative post battery terminal to reset the computer - started it up - no check engine light. I'll wait a couple of days to see if this took care of the problem, but I think I found the culprit of my UIMR being stuck open.

Glad you found the problem. I hope your going to fix the problem correctly at some point instead of electrical tape. As a FYI if you suspect you have a vacuum leak there is an easy way to check. With the engine running spray starter fluid near the area that you suspect the vacuum leak. If the idle increases momentarily you have a vacuum leak near the area that you sprayed the starter fluid.
