Motor mounts

I want to check one of my motor mounts b/c when I start it up, it shakes, along with the transmission, and is very noticeable. And I have a wheel hop problem and it makes the tranny shifter shake really bad. The one on the drivers side has a plastic cover that hides almost the whole thing, so I cant see it. Where can I pick the motor up at so I can take the motor mount off to look at it? We have an engine hoist, so thats not a problem.

when you take off from a stop, do you feel the shifter trying to pull to the side? thats a very obvious sign that youll need mounts, ask me how i know! BUt from the sounds of your description, thats what you got. not sure where your mounts are for the 2.5, but you can jack up the engine on a corner of the oil pan.

You can lift the motor from underneath, AS LONG AS YOU DISTRIBUTE THE WEIGHT with a large block. Otherwise, lift it using the factory supplied lift brackets. Attach a chain to the rear bracket, which is the black looped metal piece attached to the head with the exhaust manifold bolts.

Attach the other hook of the chain to the factory lift hook at the front of the engine, near the camshaft pulley. Make sure you remove all FOUR bolts from the motor mounts before trying to life it out. If you need ANY pictures, let me know ASAP as I have my motor pulled right now!

You can see both lift points in this picture:

yea they were both completely torn apart. it was after some really rough abuse pulling out a friend in a mudhole.

but it fixed alot of my problems with vibrations.

I have to replace mine again for the 2nd time. I just found out Autozone has solid rubber mounts instead of the fluid filled POS's. And they're about $10 cheaper. I'm installing mine this weekend. I still haven't figured out what the benefit is to filling them with fluid.

Are you certain which part is broken? Is it the mounts or the isolators?

The isolators you'll need look like this:

They are solid square rubber isolators with four 15mm bolts that attach to the mounts..

Im not sure anything is broken, but the way it shakes, would make me think one of them is broken.
