Check engine light after hard bump

Check engine light after hard bump

My check engine light comes on if I hit a bump or go over rr track that are bumpy. I had it checked an it is a fuel evap leak/so i installed a new gas cap and the problem persists. Any other palces to check?

I don't know bud. All I know is that there is a button on the passenger side under the dash by the floorboard. You have to look for it and you stick your finger in the hole and there is a button. Click it. It does something to the fuel pump. See if that works. I had a big bump with my truck and it had a problem coming up on the detection pad thing. After I did that button thing. No more trouble.

Derek, that is the inertia switch and it is unrelated to the problem.

There is a vaccum hose that goes all the way back to the spare tire area. It connects to the Evap Cannister, which is a fuel fume eradicator. Make sure that line isn't bent, buckled, spindled, folded, or mutilated. You get the idea.

Could also be the hosing from the filler to the tank, the tank itself, or the evap valve, which I believe is up in the engine compartment, near the brake MC.

Well thank you for the info. Lol. I don't know jack about vehicles....
