switching to electric fan

maybe someone here can help me out, I am trying to change to an electric fan on my 2003 with the 2.3L engine. I have already had two that I was told would fit but were a bit too big. Does anyone know the part number or who makes one that will work?

does the fan you are selling come with or have an available temp controlled thermostat? I want the electric fan for my 2003 2.3L, is this the right fan for my engine? I noticed on your website that you also deal with the bamachips. On my 2003 2.3L I have a volant intake and gibson side swept exhaust. What do they offer for my application? I have the 5 speed manual and no a/c if that info is needed. If something is available for my truck, what octane fuel is required?

I forgot to ask in the last post, but do you know what belt I would need with the electric fan?

There is no belt change. The pulley stays on for the water pump.

I am not too familiar with the 16v 2.3L but isn't the waterpump right under the powersteering? If not, what is under the powersteering with the coolant hoses going to it?

the belt will be the same, you are only removing the mechanical fan, the pulley will remain. the controller does come with a temperature probe, and is adjustable.

as far as the BamaChips, we can get any kind of tune youd like, with any octane fuel, just let us know what youre looking for and we can make it happen!

With the air intake and exhaust, what would you recommend? Do the programs for the different octanes really make much difference? For instance, between a 87 octane and a 89 octane chip, what differences should be expected? What about going to the 93 octane chip? Will running the higher octane fuel hurt anything being the engine is recommended to run on 87?

the main difference with the octane is we can squeeze out more power by advancing the timing. to get max performance you would want a higher octane fuel. you may not actually be able to FEEL the difference though. since you get 3 tunes with the programmer, you can get an 87 performance, 93 performance, and one other tune, maybe 87 economy, for better gas mileage

Do they offer anything that has just one program? # seperate programs sounds expensive. If something is available with a single program, lets say I choose a mid-grade 89 octane program. I understand that a slight performance gain will be there, but what does that do to the fuel milleage? It seems like everyone and there brother makes chips or programmers these days. I've read the claims on most of them, but am not familiar with the bamachips. Sorry for all the questions, I am just looking for all the info before making the purchase to make sure I get what I am looking for.

the X2 programmer comes with 3 tunes regardless, so you dont have to worry about that. the industry is moving away from "chips" because of the damage they can cause. BamaChips is without a doubt the best tuner for the ford ranger platform, he has been in a few magazines lately, is in the top 5 of all dealers for SCT, and anyone on here can attest to his abilities.

the chips that physically installed on the back of PCMs had some problems, most commonly incorrect installation by the end user, causing damage to the PCM itself. even so, i installed the one on my ranger correctly, and it fried the PCM, probably a short somewhere, and i had to pay $400 for a PCM and $150 to have everything set up for it. so im a big flasher fan

oh ok i thought by the way you said it the chip over time messed up the PCM. Ive had the chip for over two years now and no issues. but i will agree that it is a freaking pain to install and my hand was shaking the whole time while i installed it.

i would still like to get the X2 tho. its just sweet. so its a must have.
