The TPS mod is probably from some 3.0 Rangers that have too much slack in the throttle cable and the butterfly doesn't completely open. I haven't heard of this other than with the 3.0.

The TPS mod is referring to "Throttle Position Sensor". I think you may mean the Throttle Cable Mod. This is a simple procedure of pulling the slack out of the throttle cable from in front of the throttle pedal, and attaching a few Zip ties to hold it in place with no slack. This gives you a TRUE Wide Open Throttle and MUCH better throttle response.

I've had mine modded for 5 years now....never broken a Zip tie, never needed to take up more slack. However one day I removed them to remind myself what it felt like without it, and I was nearly sick.

the TPS mod is what some of the mustang guy do to increese spark. you have to take off you throttle postion sensor and drill out the holes where it bolt in. "so you can rotate it .after that put it back on . there should be 2 wires that are running to the Tps you want to tap into thos wires with a volt meter and get as close to 92 as possiable go to far adn it'll run like **** so you have to be care fuil it's also a good idea to make where it was stock
