Front end shimmy

I just replaced both front wheel hub assemblies with ABS sensors and the truck will shimmy for a bit and quit when I let off the gas. Not really a certain speed at which it happens. The steering wheel shakes really really bad. The new assemblies are tight. Would the tires be causing this? I've got to get new ones anyway before the snow flies.

it sounds like alignment.
if you take the hubs apart, you could very easily have moved the alignment out when putting things back together.

but also check to make sure you reassembled everything correctly and its all tight. the last thing you want to happen is losing an axle while driving

No kidding. I'll recheck and make sure everything is snug. I'll probably have it aligned when the new shoes go on.
