1995 3.0 Head Question
I recently had to take out the old head of my ranger and replace it with a new one (long story) I picked one up from my local junk yard for $60.00 bucks. The head was out out a 3.0L Taurus I re assembled the engine with all brand new gaskets. And torqued all bolts properly. When I put new anti-freeze through the engine it rushed out the side of the head toward the back. (Note the engine did run though)
Does anyone know what is causing this? I was told the head would work on my ranger.
I personally believe it has to do with the Taurus head having a different flow pattern of the head????
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated i need this ranger running asap!

I t could be a couple of things,
Head could be heat warped, cracked.
There might be a missing bolt that is not needed now.
( some engines have bolt holes tapped through to the water jacket.)
However i've read on some sites that when buying heads for this engine that the company requires yr of vehicle or engine to make sure the correct heads are ordered.
