Misfire and more

I have an 01' Ranger XLT with a 3.0 and it's two wheel drive. The CEL came on months ago and the code is P0304, and on occasion it is P0305. I replaced the wires, plugs, coil pack, and the egr pressure sensor as well as a few vacuum lines. Also replaced the intake manifold gasket. No water in the oil and the ends of the plugs looked good although I haven't performed a compression check yet. I will probably do that this weekend when I replace the timing chain cover gasket as well as the chain itself and gears. When I reset the computer it will run like a champ for a hundred miles or more and then the light comes back on and it starts missing like crazy. Would the cam positioning sensor cause this problem? The EGR valve also works. The engine cuts off when vacuum is applied. I would think that it would be a vacuum leak if the problem was consistent. Also, I switched the number 4 and number 5 injectors but the problem stays. So now what?

It's a pain in my butt!! This weekend, or maybe next, I'm replacing the timing chain cover gasket and timing chain and quite possibly an injector or two or three. So I will keep you updated. Quite a few years ago my mustangs cel came on but it wasn't running rough or missing. It ended up being the cam position sensor but I don't think that's the case here. I love a good puzzle but......................
