I won't be excited about gas being "cheap" unitl its under 2.00 again, if that ever happens. When i got my licence back in 1999, i filled up my first tank of gas for .89. Now, six years later its more than $2.00 more than that! Gas at the most should be 1.79 reg.1.89 super 1.99 premium. Then i wouldnt complain as much :)

With my 2003 Edge plus extended cab I only get 13 in city and 16 on the highway...I have 30" tires but that shouldnt make a difference...but the 4.10s are a killer but really help out on the get up and go of the truck

I find it hard to grasp how you can get 20-21mpg towing a 4000 lb trailer with a 3.0.My 4.0 auto gets about 16-17 mpg and drops all the way down to 11mpg towing a 4700 lb car trailer.I would think that the 3.0 would struggle much more than a 4.0 towing all of that weight.

I get between 18.5 and 20mpg just carrying a bed full of tools and supplies around, and thats a reg. cab with a manual transmission! Its either wishful thinking or "new math" if you're getting 21mpg towing a 4000lb trailer!

Yea with my 3.0 pullin my cattle trailer with my cow and steer in it, the total weight is about 5000pounds floor borded goin 70 i only get 10-12 so there is no way u can get 20 pullin a trailer...what do u get without pullin the trailer??? 35mpg??? I mean c'mon the sticker mpg says the truck is supposed to get 15-21 and u know that is with nothin running but the engine so unless u are pulling an imaginary tralier there is no way...Sorry dude

Maybe all of the trips he takes are downhill. That would explain it!

Wouldn't bigger tires hurt your gas a bit since the engine has to put more effort in to turn them?

My truck get 22 city/27 highway

The chances of me getting this mileage with me not driving my truck for 7 months? The likely hood of an obese women trying to fit under a lowered Ranger!

bigger tires do kill.. like 35's .. much worse than 245's lts say like a 29" tire. but my ranger has always sucked on gas so.. yea

man i dono how some of you get these great gas mileages.... When i drive from my house to Cal Poly (240miles) i get 17-19 for the trip at best... last time i got 16. I have the 3.0 w/ 4.10 gears, and i only go 65-75, only breaking the 75 mark when i am going downhill. At 72ish mph i am at 3000 rpm... is there something messed w/ my truck or what cuz u guys (with the 3.0 and 4.10s seem to be getting much better) oh and yes my tires are inflated perfectly and i have a new airfilter...

Urs sounds just like my truck...Like I said I have no lift and just put on 30inch all terrians...that is it...and going home from college is about 260 miles and going 70-75 the whole way I average about 16-17 at best...and in the city i get more on the lines of 13-15...and I have the 3.0 with 4.10s..it sucks...but i LOVE my truck and gas milage is one thing I can live with...would rather drive my truck than a little car that gets 35+....but no nothin is wrong with your truck...its just that those 4.10s are a killer...just like you me goin 70-75 my RPMs are running from 2800-3000+ that is what kills it...My dad has a 2001 F-350 Crew Cab, Long Bed, 4X4 Off-Road with 32in tires...chip, grill guard and tool box full of tools...and he get 16+ almost everywhere he goes (he has the 7.3l) and his RPMs r only running like 2500 and under goin 75...even when pulling a 30,000 pound trailor it is under 3000 RPMs...so it is just the ranger with the 4.10s that kills us...but the only thing you could do is get a chip and hope it helps out...
