3.0 flexplate rubbing

1996 ranger 3.0 auto trans.
just got done installing engine after re ring kit and the flexplate looks (and sounds) to be rubbing on the oil pan or something close to that area anyhow, I can see a mark from it rubbing on something.
I have no clue what I did wrong putting it back together but it definitely didn't make this noise before. Almost sounds like a screech/grind bare metal on bare metal sound. I don't remember a spacer between the flexplate and the crank when I took it apart but that was a few months back. Also looks like oil pan is leaking right under the crank where the flexplate meets.
A bent flexplate crossed my mind, but wouldn't that make a sound with a pattern to the rpm? This noise is constant as long as engine is running.

Is there supposed to be a spacer between the crank and flexplate?
