AC in The Way.

I am pulling a 3.0 out of a 99 stepside reg. cab 2wd. The AC pump is in the way with its cross hose as well. I need to remove it anyways (whole AC system), but I can't move the truck to a shop to have it evac'd, and I don't want to open the schrader and walk away. Any suggestions?

A little freon isn't gonna hurt anyone. Just open the valve, or pop off a line. Wear goggles.

Since it's a 99, it will have R-134a, that's the NON- ozone depleting refrigerant. You'll be fine. All vehicles 1994 & newer use it.

or, you can remove the entire a/c system without undoing any lines. just have to take the heater box off the firewall as well.

they showed it done on trucks when they started "rolling thunder" then, you can probably just take it to a place that will reclaim the freon.
