Turbo 3.0???? how easy

You'd have to rebuild the top end, custom fab probibly the entire intake system, maybe get stronger internals, definitly if you want it to be reliable, and get it dyno tuned... And in the end you'd still be pushing about what a 4.0 pushed stock... Not worth it IMHO but hey whatever floats your boat, it would be pretty cool!

By working every stinking day. Basically I'v done nothing this summer but work. Also I get deals oneverything I buy. I know the manager at 4wps so he gets me all my goodies for cheap. The super charger is only costing me around 200$ but thats without all the custom work thats gonna have to be done for it to fit correctly.
For the time being I'll just have it on until I get more money to improve everything else. I'm just worried about the transmission not being able to handle it. It's not a whipple either, it's off a 3.8L ford engine.

how big a turbo u gonna use? if u use a small one u prolly wouldnt have to do too much. goin bigger prolly new rods, pistons, etc. yea pretty much rebuildin some stuff. cause my buds all they do is play wit turbos. between supercharger or turbo, definately turbo. sounds awesome, only need 1 horsepower. supercharger u gotta have power to get power.
go here to see one of the turbo cars my friend has:

The BEST engine to build ( IMO ) for our trucks.. 4banger with the older SVO turbo setup. Blocks have been pushed to the 400/400 level and they cheaper ( overall ) then trying to custom fab something for teh v6's that came in our trucks.

you don't NEED to redo the engine unless you push a lot of boost. One RPS.com there is a guy on there who just has a rear mounted turbo pushing I believe 9 PSI with menthol water injection and he came out with like 220HP and 230Torque at the Wheels. Not to bad. I could live with that LOl.

I have a 2005 with the 3.0, JBA Headers, drop in K&N, and a 4.10 with the 5 speed. I want some more power for better drivability, not really for top speed. I'm running 32s on it now and will be doing a lot of interstate driving. I get around 20 mpg right now and dont really want to hurt that. Ive been looking at some mods; underdrive pullys, e-fan with clutch fan delete, JBA EVOL cat back, rogue tuner, rogue roller rockers, K&N intake system, ect. What mod would be the best bang for the buck? If I do exaust I don't want a lot of interior noise. I just want to do mods that will make a noticable difference like the headers did, without breaking the bank. What do you all think?

Hey...
Not sure where you folks get your information, but the 3.0L will handle 8lbs of boost in stock trim with no issues. You can drive behind him as long as you want, but you won't be picking up any pieces.
I've done 2 superchargers on my '94 running at 3, 5, 8, 10, 15 and 18psi (once). The ONLY time I've ever had a problem when I forgot to turn the timing **** to more boost retard with a full bed of stuff driving at over 10lbs boost on the continental divide. If I would have dialed in 3* per lb retard instead of 1*, it would have made it just fine. This was on 87 octane.
Over 20,000 miles boosted without a single problem. Don't listen to the misinformed or the haters, bolt it on and enjoy!
Make sure you have the right injectors, quality, high octane fuel, and a SOUND 3.0L engine to start with. Find your local SCT Tuner and have him burn you a new PCM tune. You'll love it. 8PSI is about the cut off for a turbo without intercooling, but you can get by as long as you don't keep your foot on the floorboard all the time.
P.S., what the heck does "rebuilding your top end" have to do with a turbo?

I guess all those people were Mis-informed, including a guy whom writes custom code to flashers and sells them ?
One of the guys from Cali whom was banned from here had a rod go THROUGH his block, just doing a small amount of towing.
The 3.0 I had in my 99xlt didn't last too long as well. The person whom bought it off myself at 20k miles put a whipple on it.. the rest is history/follows suit.
I don't find the reciprocating assembly in the 3.0 to be the greatest for any type of ' power adder '. I'd rather a 4banger that has a stronger bottom end then either of the v6's in our trucks.
