Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) on 3.0 - 2000 ranger
Hi folks - new to the forum and my first post. kudos to the site manager.
I have a 2000 flex fuel 3.0 in my 2000 ranger and need to replace the chirping and squeaking CMP. I have found several posts on here concerning the replacement but none of the results are particular to the ranger 3.0 liter. most are the explorer or taurus. I cant even find the CMP on my ranger motor but I suspect it is in the back part of the block maybe under the plenum. the specifics of the replacement > I feel confident about, but am yet to see a forum answer/pictures specific to the ranger.
sorry so long and thanks for any replies....
cheers from alabama

thanks for the reply silver. looks like you have it removed already on your post. then you show it bolted back in. my motor is a 3.0 liter with a fairly large plenum on top of it. what did you have to remove to get access to it ? I think it is in the rear engine but as of yet I can not find mine. not wanting to remove the plenum but if it is under it I guess there is no option. I know I can install a distributor and I understand the timing issue but I need to get my hands on it first....
