Can't figure this one out!

Hey so I was hoping to get some tips and feedback on what this problem could be.

I was driving and all of a sudden i lost the ability to accelerate. I was pushing on the gas pedal but getting no response until about 3-4 seconds later then it kicked in and accelerated fine but i lost it again. It felt almost like i was running out of gas but the gas guage was not empty. I pulled over and turned the truck off. I tried to start it and it barely turned over and started but idles really rough around 200 rpm. I replaced the spark plug wires, coil pack, and fuel filter. I cleaned the IAC valve really well and checked the battery voltage and it read 12.5V. I also cleaned the MAF sensor. Now it turns over but wont even start. Any ideas or suggestions?....
Thanks,
Josh

Engine needs air, fuel and spark. Air is easy. Confirm that your fuel pump is working, then confrim you have spark. If all that checks out, I'd put a scanner on it and check codes to see if a sensor is bad. I'd also check the fuel pressure regulator. It may not be letting the engine get the fuel it needs to run.

maybe o2 sensors or catalytic converter. i had a little car, not a ford, that had this same symptom. drove me crazy trying to figure it out and broke trying to fix it. if it is the o2 sensors replace all of them at once (ouch) OR you will just keep replacing them, as they will be sending information to the computer that compensates for this or that, one used and covered in build up and one new and not covered in soot. put in all new to be on the safe side, and save yourself some money in the long run.
p.s. when's the last time you changed your air filter? that will stop my wifes volvo in it's tracks.

Rangers have a ground wire at the battery terminal that provides a special ground to the fuel pump, if it loses connection due to corrosion inside the terminal it will crank over but not run, there is also a fuel pressure regulator on the injector rail that controls the fuel flow at vearious speeds that can cause problems. it is vacuum controlled so a broken vacuum line can wreak havoc as well.
