Ok so I posed there was a thunk when I was driving and I couldn't figure it out. My last post said I would drive I untill it breaks and what do you know a few houres later I was driving aroud an when I turned it klunk klunk klunk. Oooo crap I hope I can make it home I'm an hour from home.

I knew I shouldn't have driven down to see my girl friend. Well since I was with her when I happend I blame her LOL this could be a long night home

I will post when I get home I don't know I still have to get home. When I'm turning in like first gear and giving it gas it does it like the whole time and it still does it in the other gears but since I'm not turning I don't know if it will do it as bad as in first.

 

Your 4x4 right? If so im betting your cv's are shot.

 

I bet you the rear end went out.

 

Rear end i'm on my way home right now and I herd the rear end just blow my rpms whent up and no go I'm in 4x4 right now driving home holy crap I'm scared it locked up on the big turn on the on ramp.

 

But then I got going straight again

 

Tow it home before you wreck the truck.

 

I can't afire a tow it's so far

 

So why drive it if its making weird noises? Take the bus or ride a bike.

 

It's driving fine in 4x4 it's just front wheel drive tho I'm taking it easy will it be ok

 

Putting that much stress on the front diff will break it. Good luck.

Dead yep I'm broke down halfway home. It is a sight to see your back left tire rim tire everything back axle and evrything come shooting off and end up 100 yards infront of you. My back end dropped as the back tire shot off wow this sucks. Nobody was hurt I'm waiting for a tow post when I make it home. And no I was not driving dumb like I said I was just bairly limping it home my pore pore baby. She will be out of comition for a long time if not forever.

hopefully you didn't do too much damage, if it's just the rearend, no biggie. go to a junk yard have her back on the road by this weekend. :)

 

Im home now. $265 for the tow not as bad as i thought it would be. I got some pics i dont know how to post them though. The axle rim and tire all came out and I was riding on the rear right break for a few feet. I got evetythng but I think i will be going to the junkyard tomorrow looking for a new rear axle and evrything.

On the up note I can get the 8.8in axle 4.10 gears with a limited slip if i can find one. I know i will need the gears for the front if I want diffrent gearing but would that be it for up front or do i need to replace something els.


P.S. if your woundering how i was posting up to the minute I was doing it from my phone so this story was not made up.

Goodluck....I've recently felt a "pulling" feeling from the rear end when my truck (auto) is shifting gears. Guess my Mazda is next =(
