As stated. My ABS light comes on when i go above 2500 rpm. the light will stay on until i turn my truck off. once i start again its off till l go over 2500 rpm. Any ideas? Do i need to clean sensors? If so where are these sensors located?

Just to be clear, if you are sitting still and increase RPMs above 2,500 the ABS light comes on?

So no movement of vehicle is required.

This would be a vibration issue, wiring, could be alternator issue but long shot.

If vehicle has to be moving, and I would think you would have mentioned speed vs RPM if that was the case, then could be a wheel sensor.

There is a sensor in each wheel hub, it isn't serviceable, but the wire connector for each one is, so check those.

The ABS system uses a Speed sensor on transmission that is also used by the computer, speedometer and cruise control.
Then it has a speed sensor on each hub/wheel
It compares the speed at speedometer and at each wheel to determine if a wheel is spinning slower than it should, i.e. starting to lockup, it then pulses the brake line going to that wheel, this prevents wheel from locking up.

ABS is the automated version of what race car drivers learned a long long time ago, pulsing the brake pedal will prevent wheel lock up and slow you down much quicker than direct pressure.

 

I haven't tried going above 2500 rpm while stationary. ill have to try this once I'm home later today to see the result.

Also a note, If i drive easy and don't go over 2500 rpm's the light will never come on, no matter the speed. Highway/city roads

I know this is asking a lot; but would you be able to show me a picture of the connector you talked about on the wheel hub, so i can follow the wire. And what am I looking for? cut wire's/loose wires?

Another note, my brakes are a little spongey; I need to bleed them correctly after my semi-failed attempt. Could this be a factor?

Look at the back side of the hub you will see a wire coming out, that is part of the hub not the truck wiring, follow it up to it's connector.

Does your speedometer work correctly?

If so is speed is reasonably accurate across the board?

If you have cruise control is it working when ABS light is off?


ABS light will come on if brake fluid is low, but not from spongy brakes.
