flowmaster 40 series

hey, i was just wondering if someone had a 94 ranger with the 3.0 auto in it with the flowmaster 40 series si/do on it ? i want to hear it before i go and purchase it, and im not sure if any of the rangers above 1994 have any change that would effect the sound, with it being newer and all. thanks.

The motors (3.0) if I remember correctly, are all the same thru the years..... That being said, there are allot of rangers on here with 40 series Flows.....

I have the 40 series si/do on my 98. For a V6 it sounds pretty good I think, I'm used to owning V8's so it's not really my cup of tea, but it has some gutsy sound to it. It's not overly loud, and doesn't sound too ricey, I would reccomend it.

I have your exact set-up you're looking for. I just went and made you some clips so it'll be a little while before I can get them uploaded. And by some miracle I actually got close to the true sound and not the crappy sound (the it's low sounding in person but ricey on camera's).

Not the best of vids nor the best depiction of what it sounds like. But i love my 40series, tho mine is SI/SO. I'm running 2.25" piping from the last catalytic converter back w/ a angled 2.5" tip. Keeping in mind that it is a v6(and the smaller one at that) i am very impressed on how it makes the truck sound alot better then a lame 3.0

I found that if I turn it up all the way it sounds closer to the actual truck (and no, it's not just because it's louder.)

There's an inside noise one coming and it should be up a little later.

hey that sounds SICK, quick question you mean to tell me thats a 3.0L v-6 with 2.25" piping all the way through with a flowmaster 40 series? automatic or standard? i cant get over that, thats got to be a 5.0 man. please tell me that a 94 ranger with the 3.0 will sound just like that. (i also have an auto). if you could tell me every little detail and set up you have that would be awesome. thats the best sounding truck ive ever heard for a v-6. thanks again.

No, it's not a 5.0. I wish it was. Just a lil' ole 3.0. It is an automatic, 2.25" pipes all the way through to the 3" tips. Here's the inside video. NOTE: I am having transmission problems so ignore the random downshift.

Yeah. I didn't think it'd sound nice but if you go listen to your exhaust stock it should sound like a quiet V8. Mine sounded almost exactly alike my old 350 small-block with the stock exhaust on it. If Ford made no changes with the 3.0's from 94 to 05 then that's what it'll sound like.

Mine is just a regular 40 series and the tips are just the single-walled angle-cut flowmaster tips.

ok cool if you dont mind asking how much the tips go for ? and do you think you've gained any power? also your first video when it was behind the pipes how much gas you give revving the engine? (rpm's)

I'm not sure about how much the tips are. I bought my exhaust as a package for $415. And as for how much gas, I just goosed it a little, maybe halfway, on the first couple of rev's and the last one was full throttle. I haven't got any programmer to get rid of the rev limiter so none of it is above 3,000 in that one.
