3.0 Flowmaster Exhaust

Hey guys, I went to the muffler shop and got a new exhaust today. They put on a Flowmaster dual outlet muffler and they put the stainless steel tips out the sides of the truck at a 45 degree angle. 290$ for everything, a little steep I thought, buuuuutt......the sound is amazing. Real deep. I recommed, although some places may overcharge a bit.

It's not steep as long as it's all aluminum. I had a friend where I had mine done and it still cost me $220 + a pizza from when I worked at Domino's at the time.

any idea how the cost broke down?

Like how much for muffler / pipes / labor?

Muffler should have been between 70-100, how much was the rest individually.

Im debating whether I should just dump it or not.

LOL D and S! My friend had a header leak on his cobra and they pretended to replace the gasket and bolts, but when we had pull out the engine to replace rod bearings, we found out that they didn't do a single thing. And it cost 150 bucks. I guess if you had a good experience with them on a catback and a ranger, i shouldn't have a problem. What kind of tips did you get that they costs 25 bucks a piece? Are they real long or something.

Btw, kinda nice communicating with someone local.

Naw thats not steep at all.. I paid $55 for my muffler, $100 for labor and then 55 for the tips. All of that was wholesale cost for th knowing the guys doing the work. Retail would be anywhere from 300-400.

thats very odd to hear that i have never heard anything bad about D&S ever and I stood there while he did my truck and watched him and talked to him the whole time...he did a damn good job on my exhaust for what i wanted...

edit...just thought of something if you friend was able to pull his engine and put rod bearing is but he couldnt do gaskets and studs? interesting. i mean that doesnt justify the work not being dont just interesting

^^ he didn't have all the tools and the engine hoist. We did it at a mechanics house. Was a good project, I learned alot about the internals of an engine. Plus when he went in for the header leak, it was like december, and a foot of snow.

lucky, i live in virginia and exhaust shops are expensive as hell here, i ordered a kit with the flowmaster single in dual out, and the stainless tips and the pipes, and paid 210 plus 55 shipping and like 8 for shipping insurance and i had to do it myself, but hey, it was a good install and i'm proud to be able to say i did it myself

V Force

I went to a local muffler shop and had dual pipes put on mine about a year ago. I did not get flowmasters because everyone and their mother has them here in mississippi instead i got vforce put on mine and they sound a lot better to me. in fact since then i have had countless number of people ask me if i have a 302 or 351 under the hood. i always say not yet.
