help....blew my motor..*****

so i was up in coos bay at the oregon dunes and i took my truck out to the dunes. when up v6 hill like nothing and then v8 hill with only a little trouble, over all i was very impressed. aired down to 20psi and it just floated and worked great. so i go up v8 hill a couple more times. i was in 4 lo and went at the hill in 4th and shifted down to 3rd about 1/2 way up or 3/4 the way up. so its working fine and running better than ever. i go back to camp and park it. the next morning i go to take it out and i notice it was idling a little wierd but it always idles really lo (like 500 rpms) at start up when cold ever since i unplugged my iac..(i run with it unplugged all the time and it runs great just idles lo at start up when cold) so i go out there a and it just feels weird. so as im coming down the hill my CEL starts flashing and we look it up and find out its misfire. so we go back to camp and i parked it. so today i start it up and its making a loud clicking noise and idles bad. i load up my quad and we leave. im going home and it just has no power and is clicking really ad but runs pretty good as long as its not at idle. i just dont have very much power at all. (hills between eureka and oregon im in 3rd at WOT doing 45-50 and its all the faster i can go...shift up and i lose speed at like 1mph per second. then i notice that when i go up the hills and have to rev it up the CEL blinks and then stops after cruzing for a wile. then i notice that wile going up the hills it kinda pulses and im not changing the pedal at all but it will lose a little power and then get it back and so on for a wile. then i stop to get some food about 1/2 way home and it sits for 30mins. when i leave and get back on the road(and starting off is really hard by the way..it wants to die and i have to give it lots of gas) but when i pull out on to the road it blows a hole bunch of blue (burning oil) smoke out the pipe. like it left a big cloud and it kept coming out all the way through 3rd. then stopped after a wile. and it does it every time i stop for a wile now. so ya how bad did i ***** it up. so tomarow im pulling the plugs and checking them out and checking my oil for metal.

Time for a compression and leakdown test. If it smokes blue only after sitting for a while then you may have bad valve seals. Do the tests to see whats going on.

ya that was my plan tomarow im going to pull the plugs and do a compression test and see whats up...and ya id love to do i 5oh swap but 1. i dont have much money and 2. i would need to find a wreaked 5.0 expo for cheap...aka mission impossible 4. but that would be sick though...also dont have that much time.

so i did a compression test (what is a leakdown test) but any way all the cylinders had about 120 (psi?) and the far back plug (closest to cab) on drivers side plug had oil on it. i think im going to try a new plug and see if that does any thing since they all had good compression. when i got the truck it had a bent exhaust valve and i put the new on in but that was on the pass side. also when i got it it ran but not very well. this time i drove it 200 miles home and it just wasnt very powerfull and made a click...now what do u think is up? also when it had a bent valve that cylinder had verry little compression

A leakdown test is where you inject air into the cylinder when both valves are closed. You use the meter to determine if the air is escaping too fast. If you hear air escaping from the intake then you have a bad intake valve, air from the exhaust means a bad exhaust valve and air from the crank case means bad valve seals.

The reason you had low compression in the cylinder with the bent valve is because the valve didn't seal and was letting air get by.

check the codes, it could be something as simple as a bad coil or cam sensor

ok so the spark plug didnt do any thing and i know about the compression going out the exhause when it was bent. also i use a knn drop in air filter and im going to test the codes probably tomarow....also i know it had a missfire but could that because of somthing else bad. and why the loss of power and the oil in the cylinder?

Well seriously you need to pull the codes. My guess is a bad valve seal. But that is a major stab in the dark.

ok wow....im so lucky.

so i pull everything off and get my intake off and a push rod is laying in the motor! (below the intake) and the rocker nut backed out and the rod fell out. that explanes the clacking and the lack of power...now let hope it runs all good when i put it back together.

I would start pulling the head apart to see what other damage you have done.

ya me too but its just that rod fell down when to rocker bolt backed out so the clicking was the rocker slapping around and the loss of power was cause i was on 5 cylinders, and the misfire was cause that cylinder wasn't firing, and i think the oil was cause the valve was shut and it had major suction in there and pulled oil around the valve...prolly a good thing cause it kept it all lubed up. but im just lucky. last time it was "blown up" it was a bent exhause valve- $100 fix.....this time fallen push rod -$ 18.56 fix (gaskets)

My truck ran on 4 cylinders a couple days. Not fun to drive at all. Ended up being 2 burnt up plug wires. And by burnt up i mean the wire was gone on the end of the coil pack
