Hey Guys I was able to get my phone to hook up to my laptop so I could get online and see what people are saying about my problem. I have a 2000 3.0L V-6 ranger that has been miss firing off and on for the past few months and I have been replacing spark plugs every month or two now and Friday I replaced the coil pack, spark plugs, and the wires and the check engine light has come on again for a cylinder #5 miss fire. I replaced the spark plugs last year with Bosh platinum 2 plugs and as the truck miss fires i have had to replace all the plugs with motor craft plugs. But the miss fire on cylinder #5 has been an issue since I got my truck from my mom and she ran E-85 in it. I have replaced everything including the injector several times now and have run out of ideas on what is causing this to happen. If any one is near me in California and could come look at or help me dignose what is causing this to happen I would be very grateful.
Thanks for the help guys... Thanks Matt for starting this post for me.

Do you know any one that has an ECM that they are selling or that I can use? I was driving yesterday and the check engine light went off for about 20 mins then came back on I haven't read the code yet but I will post it later on.

So I'm back in Austin now and the truck is still missing on cylinder # 5 and when I read the code it says P0305 and then says Mil connectors, EGR, E-vap, and some other things. Could my EGR valve be causing the miss fire? I'm planing on getting a can of Sea foam and seeing if I have a vacuum leak somewhere. If any one has any suggestions please let me know so I can get my truck running back to normal and maybe get to the meet in New Mexico next month.

It might be your head. Its quite common on the 4.o OHV's

Loose Intake Manifold Bolts - Check for loose lower intake manifold bolts. Pull your #5 plug and check it out. If you see the fuzzy head or have some oil present around the sides of the plug then bingo. The 93-94 have this problem VERY often. Usually you can fix it by simply tightening the bolts (in the PROPER sequence), but sometimes you need a new gasket. Do you notice a loss of oil with no leaks? Say 1-quart every 1500-3000 miles?
