oil pressure drops

I have a '93 3.0 that starts to drop oil pressure above 4k rpm. I have an oil leak at the rear of the oil pan but I don't think thats causing the problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Sludge in the pump intake screen.

The oil pressure sensor is the first thing I'd look at...just to eliminate that before you get all worked up.

oil pump may be worn. pumps dont create the pressure they create flow. you will still get flow out of a worn pump until you try to over work it by going to higher rpm. but you should check the screen first
