fan belt

Make sure it is the belt . Remove it and start the engine for a few moments.
If the squealing is still there , check the cam syncronizer . If that is making the noise , get a new one in it yesterday . You don't want it to fail.

If it's the cam sync. You should be able to remove the cam sensor from the top of it(2 screws) & spray some penetrating oil down into it & the noise will go away. It gets a little carbon & oil tarnish on it & it will squeal. Most of the time that's all you have to do to get rid of it.If it's a belt squeal, clean ALL of the pulleys with scotchbrite & then see if the noise goes away. It just takes a little stuck on grease or paint or foreign matter on them to make them squeal. Polish them babies up!!!

Mine squealed for 4 years before I finally tracked it down to the auto tensioner. Costs about $50 to buy the whole assemly and only one bolt to get it off. Now it is quiet as can be. I agree don't let the cam sensor fail!!! The oil pump runs off of the cam sensor gear and it only takes few mins without oil pressure for the engine to completely seize. At that point you have a 3.0L boat anchor.
