exhaust question

ok so i had a SI/DO catback magnaflow exhaust put on a while back. I had small tips put on and i want to put on bigger tips, though when i looked at the piping. the guy did a 2.5" piping from the cat to the muffler which im fine with, but only used 1.75 piping the rest of the way, will it make much of a difference if i get the piping taken off and put 2" pipes on?

I think stock pipe size is 2.5" so you would be fine. I am not 100% sure, someone else will chime in. 1.75" sounds real small though.

Stock is around 2" i think because my Borla came 2.25 and we had to adapt it to fit to the stock exhaust.

after the cat the stock piping goes down in size to something like 2" or 2 1/4" piping, A piece of straight pipe from that to the muffler should be 2.5" then from that it should go to 2" if you did dual exhaust. !.75" sounds way to small.

It's not going to matter power wise, the only difference is the sound will be slightly different. I wouldn't bother with it.

^^^Yes, if you don't want to loose your low end, go 2.5" in and dual 2" out....

n i heard that if u got tru duals on a ranger u got absolutley no backflow so its not wise on a ranger

^^^ No he doesn't have true duals.... There is no need as you stated. He has the single 2.5" pipe in then DUAL 2.5" out the back. Thats why I said before, go 2.5" and dual 2" out, or you will loose low end as silver stated...

I personally think the 3.5" would be too big. I have 3" and it looks perfect. (in my opinion)
