Flex fuel to standard fuel conversion

Does anyone know what if any conversions have to be made to trade out a
bad 3.0 liter flex fuel 2000 model engine for a standard 98 3.0 liter v6.

thanks

The regular gasoline 3.0L uses different injectors, PCM and probably the fuel pump assembly, also. If you got those parts from a compatible year, it would probably be possible.

OR, just use your FFV injectors on the donor engine and retain your FFV PCM and pump..

I agree with Bob. The main differences are the PCM, wiring to the gas tank, fuel pump/sender assembly, and the injectors.

The flex fuel model is somewhat more versatile and with the larger injectors has the inherent capability of higher fuel flow rates if you can get the air for it. I'd retain the flex fuel equipment and retrofit it on the new engine.

Take the 14lb. injectors out of the donor, install your 23lb. FF injectors. The engine is the same.
