Questions...
I plan to do some engine mods to my little 3.0 but not sure where to look for parts despite my searches with google. I did find a CAI kit. My first question, will I have to have it tuned after the CAI install? I know some OBD II systems are finicky not sure on the rangers tho. next, I'm having a hard time finding shorty headers, seems everyone has them for the 4.0 but not the vulcan. Does anyone make an aftermarket intake or TB for the vulcan? or can I adapt a aluminum intake from an earlier yr 3.0? and finally, I want to do a rear disc swap on in but have been told a couple dif stories. I've heard I can use my axles and just mount the disc hardware to my backing plates and be done, another says I have to use the axles from a explorer with rear disc. This would be more doable since I want to get rid of the peg leg anyway and install a trac-lok unit. Thanks for the advice.

Most rangers already have a Cold Air intake stock.
may not look like it, but yours already does. As far as headers and intakes, Its a 3.0, so your not going to find much, the engine sucks.
You can put an Explorer axle in your truck for Disc breaks, Theres a how-to in the how-to section. Or you can modify Mustang rear wheels. Theres a how to on that too.

thanks! I thought about using mustang axles but was told I couldn't because of the rangers having an offset pig and the axles being a dif length that's why I needed an explorer rearend
I also saw that SCT makes a tuner for my truck but it only nets it 16hp/16tq.. I was looking for a bit more than that, I'd like to get it as close to 200 as I could without going outside the parameters of the OBD system

Here's the site for the only 3.0 performance parts I know of. They are expensive to build and you don't get much benefit. Get a catback, a tune, underdrive pulleys, and a screamin demon coil pack and call it a day. Save up for a 5.0 swap.
