Short Ram Intake / Throttle Body

I'ved looked all over for a K&N intake and apparently they dont have any for the 3.0? Unless the sites i checked provided me with bad information. I've looked into K&N intakes for the 4.0 and found plenty. Does anyone know if they have one for the 3.0? is it the same? i believe the throttle body in the 4.0 is slightly angled therefore i dont believe they are the same. Just if you could throw me some info. Thanks

On k&n's site they have one listed as the 63 aircharger series for a 3.0.

Hi: I just installed a system from MAC Performance who specialize in ford intake and exhaust systems. Their cold air induction is $169.00 complete and adds 11.9 h.p. It is alse polished stainless steel which looks great. Their computer address is www.macperformance.com. I hope this helps as I know I'm very happy with mine..

Ha ha! No offense, but what you mean is ALLEGEDLY adds 11.9 HP...

I know it helps, but that sounds high to me.

11.9 to the crank maybe? when a few guys got dyno'd on their 4.0, there were improvements of a little under ten if I remember correctly...

I could believe it on a 4.0 perhaps -- but on a 3.0 it sounds a bit much with a stock MAF and TB.

I didn't dyno it! Their specs. state that it added 11.9 hp on a dyno which is 3+ more than K&N test results were. I just know it works alot better than the K&N filter with a air box mod as described in the how to forum. I have done both in the past 4 months.

is the increased HP a noticeable difference?

I would go with a mac intake if I ever get the money for one. Simply because the chrome, to me, looks a lot nicer than K&N's black plastic

well that black plastic may not look as nice but it serves a purpose, plastic doesnt get as hot as metal does thus the air traveling though the tube wont get as hot thus making more power that you prob wont notice......

Ok well i did some searching and now i realize i forgot to mention my ranger is a '97. I found 3.0 intakes for 98-01 and 02-06 but where are the '97's?!?!
