I'm going to take a wild guess and say maybe 25 (I don't know how much the tuner's supposed to give). I have everything but the tuner and you can feel it a little........I'm sure if your truck's stock height and has small tires that you'll be able to feel it a little more than me. I need to see if I can get a free dyno run so I can get some actual numbers for the 3.0.

intake ~ 300
exhaust ~ 400
pullies ~ 200
tuner ~ 400

Estimated total : ~ $1,300

Numbers for intake and exaust can be different depending on which brand you go with or who builds your exhaust.

intake - make your own like $50 or less
MAC intake $150 to $200
K+N $250

pulleys - crank pulley - $75
full set (alternator, water pump, crank, new belt) $195

exhaust - anywhere from $175 to $500 unless you do it yourself

tuner $300 to $500 depending on which one you buy

Take it to a performance shop that can blueprint your ECU mapping. My friend keeps telling me about a shop he knows about that can write a program for almost ANY vehicle. For $600 you get three settings that you can switch on the fly and a dyno tune. One for performance/towing (in trucks), one for stock tune, and one for economy. They reccomend that you do all your bolt-ons before you take your vehicle to them so they can optomize the program for your particular arrangement.

He is working on getting rid of his F-150 so he can buy something new and whatever he gets he is going to take there and see what it is all about. If his works out well I am going to scape the cash togather and see if they will do my truck.

My intake is half finished but it cost me the price of a cone filter ($25). It was fabbed out of some 3" PVC I had laying around. Right now I just need a way to bolt the MAF to the filter and reduce the 3" tubing to 2.5" at the throttle body. I got bored with it and just pulled the scilencer. Even the K&N intake system had a peak gain of 5hp and on average was almost exactly the same so I dont think the intake is worth it with out other flow mods.

My Exhaust was Gibson on sale for $220.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever welded up their own intake manifold or done a port/polish.

My buddy drives a Tiburon and the intake manifolds for his car are TIG welded out of aluminum tubing in some small town shop. THen they had them powder coated. Just changing that up with intake, exhaust, headers, and TB and the car showed big, noticable gains.

I wouldn't mind having one of those. Sure looks better than that composite intake.

I would love to have something like that on my truck. Best of all is that it didnt really affect his fuel economy so long as he doesnt drive like a bat out of hell.

Hyundia's way of detuning the engine is running it pig rich. That engine in particular responds extremely well to basic bolt ons because it leans it up a bit. From the factory the engine was running in the 10:1's AFR at some points in the fuel map. The way he got that intake was through a group buy on the tibby forum.

But anyway, if someone knows of a place that could make intakes like that I would deffanitely be in on a group buy if the price wasnt too steep. That particular manifold pair (upper/lower) cost him around $700.
