Check Engine Light

Hi, this morning my 1999 ford ranger didnt want to start..when i tried to turn it on it didnt want to but after trying it several times it started, but now my check engine light is on,... when i was driving it I felt like if it was gonna turn off so i would accelerate.....what could be wrong with it?....Could it be that it was raining and the Engine was cold....thanks

always helps when you get the code read. Saves on a bunch of "it could be this or this or even this" Alot of auto parts stores will read the CEL code for free or a small fee.
