i'm painting and wraping my headers and the exaust is coming down the road, plus me and my friends are chipping in for a tuner. and yes i want crome/polished aluminum, because my moto is, it doesn't matter what you got, as long as you look good. like the 8 year old mentality of putting flame decals on everything to make it go faster (i am not however comparing my self to an 8 year old so no wise cracks)

You know a tuner can only be used on one vehicle? So it would be pointless for your friends to chip in for it

Yeah but the programmer is locked until you program the truck back to stock.

Most programmers if not all can only be used on one vehicle because the company take your vin number down when you order it. Then the programmer stores the stock programming when it loads the new tune into the vehicle.

Is it fixed? as in running correctly? If the maf diameter is larger than the bottle necked maf you removed, its not gonna run right.

I've done it and it doesn't work. The 04's are soo small and the aftermarket or 03's are too large. It throws off all the calibrations. I let it idle for a while, then drove around for 20 miles hoping it would adjust. It didn't. Not enough torque to go up an incline. There is the option of adding a sleeve inside the housing to bring the diameter down to a size that is within the parameters of the computer.

This is a reasonable compromise- install the spectre tube, but keep the stock air box. At which point you can add a custom tune, you can add the open air filter:

Holy ****, when was the last time you got laid? I've never seen someone as pissy as you are.

It's obvious he made up his mind from the get go what he wanted, how about instead of wasting 6 posts trying to convince him otherwise, why don't you help him. Why don't you CONTRIBUTE?

Listen noob. I'm not pissy. It upsets me when noobs like you come on here thinking they know everything but asking stupid obvious questions and basically telling me to shove it just because my answer doesn't match what you think is cool. And I do contribute when someone asks a real question. You ask a stupid question you will get a stupid answer. You don't like then tough luck.

Sorry for trying to save you morons some money.

Thank you 84fordman! That adapter is perfect. I'll order one tomarrow. I was going to fit in the stock tube inside what I have but this is easier. Thank you for not killing my soul like some other people.

It wasn't too long ago that you were asking "stupid questions". I also see that no one helped you, I guess this thread, which has seen quite a number of opinions, suggestions and actual helpful advice, is a sign of the times, that this site is going to ****.

Rather be a helpful redneck than some *****.

Actually I asked a legitimate question. If you read my post I was asking if the calibration codes were compatible. No one answered because no one knew. I pmed someone about the answer and he knew. He just didn't see my thread. I'd rather get no answer than a redneck one.

It was too long ago? 3/12/2008 is not too long ago? I can't even believe you went through my thread. Talk about not getting any and not having anything better to do.

I have been here a lot longer than you and I have seen many people like you come and go because they don't understand what we are trying to tell you.

Are you and end of story kid playing sneaky butcher tonight? Who is hiding it and who is getting it? Sounds like it by the way you are defending him.

Oh and by the way, its MAF(Mass AirFlow) sensor not MAS sencer. Engineer my ***.

Look at the kettle trying to cover up.

You broke your sampling tube because you OVER TORQUED the MAF sensor, 89 in/lbs was all that was needed, not 89 ft/lbs, kid. Yeah so you posted a question and it was awash in the torrent of massive posting that goes on, that it was lost, so much posting goes on that it takes 2 to 3 weeks before a thread will leave the first page. You thought you would throw away a perfectly good MAF sensor, despite the Motorcraft part number was the same.

You may have been here longer than I, but it is already apparent that you won't be here much longer.

Also, don't judge someone by their appearance on a forum. I met someone off another forum, his screen name was speedracer, and yes he didn't use proper grammar on the internets (serious business), he claimed he was an electronics technician at Pleasurecraft, and I needed help sorting out wiring on a DBW throttle body that came off another vehicle. He showed up in his GT (And I am not talking Mustang), incredibly intelligent off the internet and we got it all sorted out. Again, the moral of this story is, don't judge someone by their internet appearance, not is all as it appears, especially when they act like an internet tough guy.

Just becuase I can kick you *** at math and science doesn't mean I can spell or remember the gay little acronyms. And yeah I think paying $34000 a year for 6years to get a masters constiitutes me as an engineer.

I'm waiting for mounting pieces to come in. the filter ways a bit and if i put it in as is the alternator is going to grind the **** out of it. here's some pics of it:

Size: 119.2 KB

and my mod to fit the MAF sensor:

i understand that the tube is too big for the sensor so im also waiting for that piece that 84FordMan suggested to come in and im going to put the right sized sleeve in the tube.
