How much tranny fliud?

I want to replace the tranny filter and fliud in my automatic 3.0 today. How many quarts of fluid does it take? Thanks fellas

If you replace ALL of the fluid, it holds roughly 10 quarts. However, if you just drop the pan, you will only drain part of the fluid because the torque converter will retain a few quarts.

Your owners manual has the exact capacity and the correct fluid type.

To the best of my knowledge, Rangers don't have any provision for a TC drain. It is possible to use the transmission itself to pump out the remaining fluid but this is best done with a helper.
