had an interesting ordeal today.. blah
was goin down to a friends house today.. i got off the interstate... i stoped at the stop sign.. i gave it sum gas.. thats when it happened.. BOOM! clank.. clicking noise.. all sorts of noises.. i lost alot of hp.. n i thought i blew a piston or sum major to the engine.. im like wtf...i get to the nearest gas station whichis like a football field lenght away.. i pop the hood.. lookin around.... didnt see anything.. look sum more.. looked at my spark plugs.. and the 1st one on the left side... was gone.... the main peice was in the block.. but the whole core of it just like blew out n was still in the spark plug wire.. scared the crap outta me.... btw.. when i was on the interstate.. my CEL was blinkin.. instead of a steady light.. i was like wtf... now i think i kno why it was blinking.... anyone kno what may have caused this... so i kno how to prevent it in the future?
had a 2nd one blow after playin around tonight (imma post pics tomm of our trucks) i would suggest not gapping the plugs over .50 ... gunna re-do them in the morning.. back to the factory settings.. when i 1st got the truck (used) there were already gapped at .50 ... the new ones were at .46 .. so i decided to change them back to .50 since it ran like a charm when they were at .50 ... i geuss not.. so imma see what happens with them tomm.. ill update u guys.. i wish i had the cam where we were at.. but nope.. so i only have aftermath pics.. should be good.. keep a look out in the photo section for a post of me
ps: yes.. the center electrode blew out from the rest of the plug and it was stuck in the plug wire

wow, pretty cool. Your saying the porcelain length of the spark plug seperated from the base/electrode which was still tightly threaded in the plug hole? I've seen turbo cars with crazy cylinder pressure blow complete plugs out along with the threads from the head, but I didn't think spark plugs usually break off at the base...
