interchangeable engine

my2002 edge 3.0l engine locked up ... what other years or model engines can i interchange ? thanks

well your going to want the newest one you can but I believe that any engine from 94+ will work. Don't quote me but I believe that any engine thats doesn't have a distributor will work.

not sure ..... but probably the oil pump gave out... ... anyone else have an answer ?

It's a ford vulcan 3.0l engine. Any vehicle with a ford vulcan will work. You can even yank one out of a Tore-*** and swap the heads.

Best candidates are probably 1998 to 2003 -- less chance of having to move as much hardware. 2001 to 2003 very good and 2002/2003 are a drop in.

I'm in the same position but due to hydrolock.
