Internal engine vibration

I have a 97 that has baffled the mechanics. Engine vibrates internally. Overdrive lights cone on. Any ideas if tranny or other?

You posted in the 2.9l/3.0l forum, is that the engine in question or is it a 4.0l?

Vibration

4.0l
It seems as if something is out of balance or out of round.
Right now they are thinking its in the transmission, but its kind of a guess.
Replaced plugs, wires, coil box
Thx

Overdrive light would means a problem in that circuit/solenoid.

So transmission does have an issue, and that could cause a vibration.

With an automatic it is hard to tell since it is always spinning at engine RPMs.
Does vibration change when in drive or reverse?
