Icon5 2003 ford ranger 3.0L computer flash?

My 2003 ranger 3.0l just went dead. the engine will turn over but will not start.
Checked and replaced plugs wires and coil. No change
checked fuel pressure at rail get 60psi, changed fuel filter. No Change
replaced camshaft sensor and syncronizer checked TDC (fifth tooth to Crankshaft sensor on compression stroke) with syncronizer tool and replaced sonsor. No Change
cleaned all grounds and removed ECM or PCM for inspection all looks and smells good.
This time the engine started when the pedal is depressed and will only run smooth above 1500rpm and thing less it stalls. Scanner is showing no codes. CEL goes out while cranking and while running. Could the ECU not be controling idle. does it need to be flashed. and how do I go about that ? any sources?

First thing to check is the TPS , throttle position sensor. If the PCM is detecting wide open throttle due to a bad TPS , it won't let the engine start.

the engine will start but will not idle. I have to hold the rpms above 1200. I get not check engine light. and no codes.

Check the fuel pump it should make a little noise/squeal when you turn your key but don't crank, just listen. You should hear it prime.

I've also had this happen to me when my alternator was bad, check that.

OTRtech, since last posting I've install rebuilt PCM now I start engine (will start only with pedal down) and will not idle below 1500 rpms, I get trouble codes PO171 and PO174 System adaptive fuel system too lean (banks #1 & #2 ). does anyone know what that means?

There is also a BCM( Body Control Module) which is under the center console cup holder on my 01 AT,4x2,standard cab. Could also be that but i agree with OTRtech. I would replace the TPS an prob the IAC since it won't idle but if the TPS is bad it's gonna give the rest of the sensors bad info so they won't work rite as well!!

I've replaced the TPS and the same condition exists. I'm going for a new IAC will get back.
