Cai ?

just trying to get some opinions on CAI's...anyone running the volant?...any suggestions...I will me looking to get one soon, if this had been posted before can someone point me to a link, thanks

Haha its funny to see my thread used on here. I just actually changed that out to the full K&N CAI FIPK. The 2 main reason I did that were the FIPK has a bigger cone and the heat shield. I would have to say that their is some improvement with the system as it has a little more get-up-and-go. The sound is about the same (nice intake sound) but at very high rpms it seems to breath better and is smoother.

i'm running the volant cai. they have an open filter model and a closed filter model... i'm running the closed filter model.

imo, it's the nicest looking intake of our 3.0 options. aftermarket instakes for our trucks will all offer roughly the same performance gains, so it pretty much comes down to personal preference.

yah i agree with you...im thinking the volant w/the closed filter. i think it looks better and im sure its a little more quiet than an open filter CAI

It's funny to see people call it a CAI. CAI implies relocating the filter to get all cold outside air. It's just a drop in or new cone filter. But that's semantics and no one likes a dick
