OBDII or ECCIV

Does anyone know what type of computer the 05' Ranger (3.0 auto) has? The reason I ask is because I would like to have a custom exhaust instead of the 3 catalytic converters and huge muffler currently residing beneath my truck.

The PCM should be EEC-V. It is programmed for OBDII which is the government mandated diagnostics. If you remove the cats, you will get a check engine light from the OBDII Catalyst Efficiency Monitor.

Thanks for the replies guys. Has anyone tried to run the O2 deletes or run the OBDII equipped trucks without the cats or any configuration of the 3 successfully? I feel those 3 cats are a little restrictive. Please advise.
