Oil & Filter Preference

Just curious to see what everyone else is running. List the type of oil you use (type, brand, synthetic, etc) and what type of filter you use. And which ones you like and dislike.
I found while using Mobil 1 5W-30 with a Mobil 1 filter my oil stays a TON cleaner than the conventional Motorcraft and Fram filters. I went about 3,700 miles between changes and probably could have gotten another 1,500 miles before I really got skeptical about not changing it. But yeah that's my choice.

I use Mobil 1 5W30 with a Motorcraft filter changed every 5,000 miles.I have been doing this since 1,000 miles and it now has 139,000 miles and running strong.No oil leaks or burning and when you look down the oil fill tube it looks brand new inside.I do mostly highway driving and it gets changed about every month or so.

4.0sohc using Amsoil 100% syn 10w-30 & Amsoil filter. Currently about 8-9k mlies in 8 months on oil and filter I'll be changing the filter in the next week or so and changing the oil mid next year.

That's the beauty of long-drain synthetics. I like only changing it once a year, and it's actually cheaper this way.

Oil Filters
I did some searching around on the net for oil filter studies and found out some interesting stuff! Theres this guy (an engineer of some sort) that lost a motor, due to clogged oil passages on the head, that allowed oil up to the overhead cam. So he gets mad (becuase he really looked after his cars) and buys every brand's equivilent to an FL1A Motocraft, cuts them all open, takes pictures and analyzes the heck out of everything. In a nutshell, his findings.
AC Delco, had the most filtration media in it. Very good.
Motorcraft, made by Purolator. Very good.
Purolator's low end not the greatest, mid and high end are very good.
WIX. Very Good
Napa. Made by Wix.....very good, but no difference between Silver and Gold.
Mopar. Don't bother using.
Fram. Horrible. Poor anti-drain back valves. End pieces made of cardboard.
Mobil 1 - Good, but some have failed under high pressure (case failures)
Honeywell. Don't bother.
I had a Honeywell on a 5.0L Bronco when we got the truck.....everytime you started the truck from a long sit, you could hear the crank knocking and it took about 5 seconds for the oil pressure to build up. This is what a poor anti-drainback valve can cause. Premature death due to poor startup lubrication. I've switched it to Wix and the noises have vanished. The oil pressure gauge swings up immediately after the engine starts.
