Icon9 Swapping a 3.0 for my blown 2.3

Im mid engine swap from a 97 2.3 to a 94 3.0 and I have a small concern looking at my firewall over towards the brake booster on the drivers side. There is a plug the consists of three square plugs that I believe is my OBD2 system. Although I am not sure
The engine harness I have that came with the motor when I bought it has a round plug the is in the same place on the vehicle this came off of
I don't know if I need to plug it in for the vehicle to run properly as I've never taken on a task like this
Any advice would be great
I have access to the vehicle I bought engine from still.

1995 and up Rangers used EEC-V 104 pin computer with OBD2
1994 and earlier Rangers used EEC-IV 60 pin computer with OBD1

1994 3.0l also still used distributor, and the TFI ignition system.

So wiring won't match up.

You will need air cleaner with MAF sensor, I would also move the whole engine fuse box over.
You need 3.0l engine wiring harness and computer, computer can be in engine bay, no need to run wiring thru firewall.
You will need to match some power wires for inside fuse panel, and dash temp gauge and oil pressure.

1997 still used speed sensor in old speedometer hole in transmission, so 1994 3.0l trans should work fine for your 1997 speedometer

is that the extent of my issues? thats very helpful and gives me a place to start for sure. is there a way to make it all work? i have the 3.0 computer and wiring harness

if theres a thread with this information in detail i would happily stop posting and read that one but i havent been able to find one after several days of searching.
