What exhaust to get?

Well, I have a crack in my magnaflow, and I'm gonna replace it. My question is should I go with Gibson, or borla? I already have a 2.5" cat-back that exits behind each rear tire. I want to get one that sounds at least as loud and deep as mine does now. FLOWMASTER IS NOT AN OPTION!!! THEY ALL SOUND THE SAME!!

I think youd be happy with either. Gibson has a little bit quieter sound than Borla, but still nice when you step on it. Borla is similar, just a little louder.

Were you not happy with the Magnaflow? I've never heard a Borla in person, sound clip anyone? Also, Detroit, got any pics of your truck?

Actually, the borla is only gonna cost me $150 installed. the gibson is $130 and the exact replacement Magnaflow I have would be $185. I am very happy with the magnaflow, but I can't see spending $35 more than a borla for one. I love the Borla on my Stang, but I've never heard it on a ranger.

Ya flowmasters sound tinny and like s*it theres so many rangers around here with Flowmaster and compared to my Magnaflow and my buddys Borla the Flowmaster just makes an annoying amout of noise, not to mention i havnt heard a Flowmaster on a 3.0 or 4.0 that actually gets the headline of sounding....well a meer "good"

I 100% support ur decision on that one Detriot!

Flowmaster's sound the same regardless of vehicle. 4 banger's all sound alike. 6 cyls all sound like each other and most V-8's sound like each other too! The only cars I've ever heard sound different is a mustang and camaro. And that's only because the mustang has true dual exhaust, not a y pipe that goes to a muffler with 2 outlets! like the Camaro.

So what did you end up going with? I have borla on my 3.0 and I love the sound. Its a low mellow sound until you get on it. Just cruising down the highway I can barely hear it.

What? Flowmasters are NOT the same. I made the mistake of having a 70 series installed. Really mellow, but it kept hitting my driveshaft. So I changed it with a 40 series...and it was much louder and sounded like a v-8.

I ended up going with a borla XR1, so it's anything but a mellow sound, but it sounds bada$$ to me, and I've gotten many compliments now on how awesome it sounds, and not to be a smarta$$ james, but most people run the 40 series mufflers, so yeah most of them do all sound the same.
