has anyone ever used the like 27 dollar cherry bomb muffler from autozone heres the link http://www.autozone.com/R,APP1309478...ductDetail.htm if you used it is this what i need for like a direct swap did it make your truck louder i just saw it for 27 dollars and thought it might be a cheap way get perfmoance exhaust

 

i put it on mine and it wasn't a direct swap.... it was a lot shorter than my other muffler... as for the sound it is not real loud but it does sound better than the stock muffler

 

I've got one on mine. Came with the truck. It has a nice sound to it, but it's not loud like a Flowmaster. Has a real nice sound when you get on the truck on the freeway

 

thesoundmaster do you know if yours was to short too and smuphey how did you lengten the pipe is the factory one welded on i havent even looked??

 

i just made a whole new custom exhaust, i made my exit pipe come out before my right rear tire... you could just measure the gap that the muffler leaves then get a straight piece of pipe to replace it.... i didn't feel like adding any more clamps and i don't have a welder so i just made a new exit

 

leave it stock... save your money and get borla...

 

Haha just cause its loud doesn't make it performance. Cherry bomb is definitely not performance, save your money and get a Borla x2

 

I had a whole custom exhaust done on my truck, its 2.5" piping all the way back with it coming out behind the rear tire. Its a "resonator", but its really a cherry bomb. Here is a sound clip:

i just realized this is in 3.0L tech. I have the 4.0L and it appears to not be too short. Mine's a little different, it looks like the glasspack, but isn't a glasspack.

 

Yes, I put one on and love it. its sounds great and not like rice. The fm sounds deeper but im not trying to fool anybody. Its not loud at idle, not really much louder at all.
